[ Well, in his defense, the whole frog suit thing was very jarring.
The suit's expression is not at all suited for how the Exarch is feeling at this moment. Glassy eyes and a wide smile look from Six to the indentation, the bulbous shape of it dipping oddly as he Exarch inside tilts his head. He knows the Tower better than any living soul...but it's a vast and deeply complicated miracle of magical engineering. He knows what this passage is for and where it leads, he's sure of it. He only can't recall the specifics of it off the top of his head. Given a bit of time (and a chance to search through the Tower's functions from within) he'd know and there'd be no need for any of this.
And yet, as embarrassing as the trappings of it are...it's beginning to feel a bit exciting. Like another chance at an adventure with one of the Warriors of Light, now of Darkness too. When he thinks of it that way how could he have possibly considered refusing? ]
Only a suspicion? [ At last the Exarch is finding his smile, hopefully coming through in his tone. ] Is this to be how you intend to test your hypothesis, Six?
[ And yet the Exarch reaches out towards the indentation, the Tower reacting instantly to it's master, and with a surprisingly quiet sound for solid crystal a hidden doorway reveals itself and slides open. ]
[ He expected no less from the Crystal Exarch, however, and it is with equal parts relish and excitement that he glances down the freshly opened tunnel. A scent like dust and metal wafts out, as well as something he can't quite describe: does crystal have a smell? If crystal were to smell, it would perhaps smell like this.
Beyond are softly blinking lights. Corridors lit in hues of green and yellow. A distant, constant hum.
Six returns his smile. He can't see it, but he can hear it. ]
This is how I intend to do a little exploring.
[ It is how he intends to have an adventure, one that the Exarch can join without fear for his own constitution. ]
[ Aether can have a smell in sufficient quantities, it tingles at the back of the throat and lingers, leaving one dizzy if it's thick enough on the air. If crystal has a scent it would be closest to that. Yet an unexpected boon of the suits is that they filter the air somewhat, keeping the eons worth of dust from overwhelming as the pair squeak through.
The Exarch does as Six suggests, allowing himself a moment of feeling chuffed at impressing the Warrior even a little, as the passage gradually opens up into a larger chamber. ]
These guardians... [ A whisper, just enough for the other miqo'te to hear. ] ...what did they look like?
[ And are they the kind to detect the constant squeaking, is the unspoken question. ]
[ And indeed, strange Allagan amalgamations seems to have been let loose within the deeper, more labyrinthine sections of the Crystal Tower, roaming in all their bio-mechanical glory. Six's experience in the Binding Coils has given him fuuuuuulll reason to just want to avoid them outright.
He inches close to a railway, pointing down at crossing paths that lead down and down into some humming depth. Such creatures roam up and down them. ]
I know they have sensors instead of eyes. They detect motion and scan their surroundings for threats.

[ Surely, frogs aren't threats. ]
